Hi! AM2 is part of a Technic mod pack (ugh, just noticed the autocorrect -- no wonder I see so many references to "mudpacks") that I play a lot, so I'm often referring to this wiki; because of that, I will be making tweaks here and there... or sometimes more than just a tweak!
I noticed that people have put in crafting recipes in a variety of ways over time, but that there is an actual template for it, so I've been making use of it. Someone has uploaded captures of some AM2 GUIs, such as the Essence Refiner, so... I may have a stab at making another template based on the Crafting one but using the other GUIs.
Is there any sort of style guide I should be referring to around here? The Community Q&A is all about in-game stuff, not the wiki itself, so I'm asking here.
NetGun is a test game made to help us understand Netcode in Gamemaker for another project that we're working on; Shooter (as you've probably heard). NetGun is a very simplistic top down space fighting game that's also a lan game (but you can play it online using services like tunngle or hamachi if you must try). Read more on its page.
Should we have separate page for Sunstone and Sunstone Ore ? Because right now there is a Sunstone Ore page but it is a redirect to Sunstone page.
And in the Crafting template there is an OA field that should be showing how many output items you will get. But all it does is that it shows the word Template near the output item, not the number. Could you try to fix that? I am not really good with template :P (example page would be here: am2.wikia.com/wiki/Sunstone_Block#Usage)
P.S: So should i make separate pages for Sunstone and Sunstone Ore?
I wasn't an admin at the time it was added so I have no idea if it came from somewhere else or if Pom (or any older admins that have left) created it, but it appears on other places. Doesnt matter anyway I fixed it, where missing about 4 line of code.
We dont have a furnace template, thanks for pointing out that it's on tinkers' construct's wikia, will add it tommorow. The fix took way longer than i thought it would.
dont create seperate pages, when you create a redirect it will still appear in the search meaning if someones looking for sunstone ore it will just take them to the sunstone page which has the information anyway. The reason why we combined them is because sunstone ore had pretty much nothing there. We do that to small pages.
So I haven't been on for about 2 months, I've been incredibly busy with both school and life but things are calming down so I'm starting to be able to make time for AM2 now. You'd probably knowticed this on DA as well.
Internet connection is better and not dropping out constantly, but is still slow as per usual. Ever since wikia updated into 'fandom' loading times have increased considerably, but has gotten better compared to last time I checked.
So to address my inactivity here, I've been having a lot - and I mean A GOD DAMN LOT - of issues not only with my internet connection but wikia in general.
I'm still monitoring as per usual (slow again like normal because of school and the such) but responding to changes and comments either doesn't happen or takes a very long time. This is not due to me being lazy, wikia takes about 2-4 minutes just to finish loading. Even when it does well then there's a pretty good chance I won't be able to load the editor or the post button for comments, hence my inactivity in even reverting trolled pages. The reason for this isn't entirely my internet connection speed - note; entirely - but rather the site not loading correctly regardless of my browser (firefox, chrome, safari, IE, you name it and it won't work). I've found that what doesn't load correctly is adverts and cookie nodes (even with my cookie blocker off), there's 2-4 of which simply don't load or take about 1 minute to load.
----WALL OF TEXT THAT YOU WON'T UNDERSTAND UNLESS YOU KNOW NETWORKS----
Now my internet connection (if you aren’t a "tech-head" like myself you'll find this boring). As I live in Australia, you've probably guessed my internet is (still) about as bad as some developing countries internet connection stability and connection speed. But lately the stability of our connection lately has gotten so bad that there's about a 25-50% chance that it may start to freak out and drop out every 10 minutes to 1 hour intervals (for 1-3 minutes). We've checked repeatedly that it isn't our modem, we've even gotten people to check the wiring in the house to see if that's the problem, and if it is just our computers, all of which have returned "perfectly functioning with no related faults". Furthermore the DSL connection is what drops and not our general internet connection and even THEN we've replaced the splitter box (because our phone runs off the same line as our modem, that's DSL for you) with our ISP's type and tried our ISP's type of modem (which ironically made things worse whenever they - yes we tried more than one ISP modem - where plugged in). As a conclusion between our ISP and us we think it is most likely the wire being so old (mind you this wire we run off is about 30-50 years old) is so degraded now that it struggles to handle all the packets sent through the street and that when enough people in the street are connected at one time on the same service (e.g. skype) the wire will die out causing a loss of connection to the ISP tower.
It's predicted we will be getting optic fiber in about 3-30 years. So don't expect this to get any better soon, I'm doing what I can currently with what little time and resources I have.
Been sick lately so haven't been able to come on to much, the holidays backgrounds I wunted to start work on and finish the christmas one before the 21st but i just couldn't, so I'm working on it now that I'm well enough to do so, so the backgrounds may change a little here and there but will go back to normal when I'm done experimenting. That's all, have a very merry christmas!
